One Scoop or Two??

 Good day ladies and gentlemen (dad)!  I've got a quick two-scooper for ya!  LOL!  Over the weekend I found this wonderful stamper and spent most of my Sunday browsing her blog.  I copied many of her cards and projects to my "Cards to CASE" folder and actually copied one today already!  Well, I shouldn't say copied because I borrowed her layout and changed everything else.  Not that I didn't love everything else- I totally did, I just don't have all the products and... that's just how I CASE usually. 

Anyway, today's Clean & Simple challenge on SCS is to be inspired by the word "Delicious" and I immediately thought of my Sweet Scoops stamp set.  My first card is above.  I realized after I had it all uploaded that it is kind of an oxymoron because my sentiment says "One of a Kind" but none of my cones are identical.  Duh!  Cute anyway, but all those colors of ice cream were kind of bothering me anyway.  Not nearly clean enough for a CAS challenge so.....

I tried again.  This time all my cones are identical but one of them has a few little extras!  I changed the scallop at the bottom from the pinking hearts punch on my first try.  Both have "sprinkles" of chunky glitter, but this one has a cherry on top as well. 

The sentiment piece that I punched with the Designer Label punch is from an ancient set from 2006 called Designer Label.  I told you I never get rid of anything.  I though the style was perfect for this card.

Guess what?! I think I'm back! Well, my stampin' mojo is back anyway. At least it was yesterday when I made this and another card that I'm happy with which I'll share tomorrow. It took me a while to find a few challenges that seemed to speak to me, then it was happy stamping. For this card I used the Mojo Monday sketch challenge (Mojo 142) in a simplified form. The glittery butterfly was punched from a sticky sheet then covered with glitter. I didn't actually peel off the backing since I wanted it to be raised with a Stampin' Dimensional.

What do you think of this color combo? It isn't for a challenge anywhere, but I came up with it on my own: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry and my trusty favorite retiring Ballet Blue!

Did you notice the embossed dots around the edges of the Crumb Cake layer? Well you know me and my SUO mentality... but I just couldn't resist ordering a pack of these strip embossing folders a while ago while doing some shopping online (got myself a really cool portable Ott Lite in lime green to take on my crops and for a better light on my desk). Can't believe it has taken me this long to use one of them, but that's where those dots came from. They are just like SU's Textured Impressions Embossing Folders which I can't get enough of. The texture from just one pass through the Big Shot is amazing!

Anyway, I hope you like it. I'm tickled that I do since I've really struggled with my crafting lately. It might be that I've been reading too much instead- I'm "between" books right now so have energy to focus on card-making!!

Sparkling Flamingo Lattice

As promised: glitter for the THIRD day in a row! I don't know what got into me- I almost never use glitter. I put the Glitter Window technique to use again today- which means I layered clear packing tape on the back of this Lattice Die then sprinkled it with Supernova Fine glitter in turquoise. Of course before I sprinkled it I had to cut the excess packing tape away from the edges of the Lattice piece. That's why there is a thin layer of glitter on the outer edge as well- purely accidental!

This layout is from this week's sketch challenge on Splitcoast. And that's all I'm gonna say about that (are you hearing Forest Gump??).

Dazzling White Christmas

If it has to be cold out it might as well be white outside as well, at least that's my theory! And it works for today's Limited Supplies Challenge as well. Today's challenge is to use only white cardstock and one color ink, plus only white accessories. It was a struggle, let me tell ya, but you're probably getting used to hearing that from me.

Anyway, this turned out way better than I had hoped, so I'm pleased. The main panel is shimmer white cardstock that was sent through my Big Shot not once, not twice but THREE times! Once with the Snowflake Sizzlit, once with the Texturz Plate and once with the Top Note die. I don't think I've ever BS'd the same paper 3 times before. LOL!

I chose the red dots as the background hoping more of them would show up behind the glittery snowflake but it would've had to be off center and tilted to get more to show up so I just left it centered. Speaking of the snowflake, I used the Glitter Window technique for it which is extremely laborous and intensive: place packing tape behind the cut out then sprinkle with glitter. Phew! (did you catch my sarcasm?) If you've been a customer of mine you're probably familiar with this technique. I haven't done it in a while which is why I've been wanting to try it with this snowflake die!

Well, I don't know what's gotten into me but this is the second day in a row to show you glitter on a card and I've got yet another tomorrow! Each time I use it I get bolder and bolder so you won't want to miss tomorrow's card. It is a little bit out of the ordinary for my style too (if I even have a style).

Today I found out that I have been selected as one of the three members of the Winter Design Team for the Clean & Simple challenges on Splitcoast! Seriously- they chose me! ETA: To answer a question that has been asked, I believe I remember actually stamping after I had run this through the Big Shot several times... my plan was to just cover it if it didn't work. How's that for planning ahead?! LOL!

A Little Early??

OK, so it might be a little early for Valentine's cards... but just like always I started out with one idea and it progressed to this. I wanted to use the new sets I {heart} Hearts as well as the hostess set Holiday Best. A few other things to point out are the sparkly heart- I made this by punching a heart in a scrap of the sticky sheets. Just add it to your project, peel off the label then pour chunky glitter over it. I also used the Movers & Shapers to cut the large heart out then used the punch which is a slightly smaller size and layers perfectly. The smallest heart is from the I {Heart} Heart stamp set.

Can you see the texture on the black layer? I used the Texturz Plate and Big Shot to do that. It adds a neat look in person. Well, it's taken me ALL DAY to get this made and then posted so I'm off to bed now. Hopefully I'll do some stamping tomorrow before the on-line shopping! ;)

A Mojo Sketch and a Beautiful Butterfly!

I was admiring my ribbon collection today when it dawned on me that I hadn't used much of my Rich Razzleberry dotted grosgrain. So I made this card with the Mojo sketch, intending to use that ribbon. Well, in the end I decided not too, but at least I did use my favorite Razzleberry color! The patterned paper is the Night and Day Specialty DSP from the Holiday Mini- the paper in the Build-a-brad is from Cottage Wall DSP.

I also put my Big Shot to use for the buttefly and the white daisies! I am completely out of black brads so in place of the three dots on each side of the sketch I put little dabs of mono-multi glue and added black chunky glitter for a touch of bling.

I do have another card with this very same layout that I did for the sketch challenge but I'm doing something "special" to the inside and didn't get it done today so I'll have to post that tomorrow!

No Peeking Great Swap Girls...

Well, our swaps were due yesterday so I feel like I can post these now (plus I've already seen some of the other swaps posted on blogs so it must be OK). Unfortunately, I may have to end up re-doing this one... You see, the sparkly brad I used to dot the i in happiness is actually a plain old brad that I inked with versamark, then dipped in heat'n'stick powder, heated until sticky then dipped in the Fine Cosmo glitter. I did this process a few times until it was fully covered. However, I was concerned this would rub off in the mail so I layered tissues between each card totally not thinking that they might stick to the sticky 'H'!! DUH! Well, our wonderful hostess Becky Carafa emailed to let me know she was able to pick off most of the offending kleenex... "Most" is the word troubling me. I was so excited about how these turned out too! That rose colored fine glitter just looks so neat IRL, I hope they aren't disgusting now!

Anyway, here is the second card I did for a Fancy Folds swap. It's probably no surprise that it is a shadow box card since I've posted a few lately. The only things I did on this one that weren't on the swaps were the silver brads and the piercing on the label at the bottom. The whole process was so time consuming and I was so short on time that I cut both of those steps. (Sorry Great Swaps pals!) I think they turned out nice and I'm glad they are done. I can't tell you how tired my forearm was after using the Crop-o-Dile for all those embossed dots on each edge of 12 cards! Well, thanks for stopping by and checking out my stuff!
