Non-Artisan Award Winner...

Yes, I'm a little bummed to have not gotten a call yesterday about the Stampin' Up! Artisan Award contest for demonstrators to be on SU's Design Team for the coming year.  However, the upside is I can show you all my projects now.  Unfortunately I won't get any of them back.  Here is a picture of the group of them.  Over the next few days I'll show them to you individually so you can see the details.  Which would you like to see next?
This card was one of my favorites.  It is so me- very earthy and natural, just my style.  I also love that shade of blue (I think it was Marina Mist) paired with River Rock and Always Artichoke.  This now-retired stamp set will go down as an all time favorite of mine, Inspired by Nature.  I used the Adorning Accents Edgelit to make the "frame" for the flowers, then punched a 3/4" circle in it to showcase the Antique Brad with the jewelry tag sentiment.

I didn't get a picture of the inside but I mimicked the River Rock piece and left it blank for writing a note.

I think this was the best sample of my style because it is somewhat clean & simple, with a few unexpected details.  I hope you like it better than the SU judges did.  LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!

Good morning! Anyone else love the fall time change?!? What a great way to start the day- feeling well rested!

Anyway, I did this card for the Inspiration Challenge (IC152) on Splitcoast Saturday. I choose to be inspired by one small panel on one of the inspiration pieces so it is quite a bit different than the subtle earthy hues that many others did.

I really wanted my Real Red flowers to be much more bold and bright and pop even more, but my Real Red Craft spot is in desperate need of a reinking! (It's on my next order.) I used the Striped Wipe technique again with reinkers in basic balck, brilliant blue and Cool Carribean. Funny thing is, when I was all done I matted it on Ballet Blue because that looked best.

The flowers, as well as the sentiment piece, are embossed with clear powder over basic black and real red craft ink. Then the grass was stamped again in black after the Striped Wiping was complete. The scalloped True Blue Friend piece is punched out and raised on a dimensional.

Well, this isn't my best work but I wanted something to share with you today. I have my last Craft Fair this weekend so I'll stay busy with that stuff this week mostly.

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the beautiful weather this week!

Live With Passion!

Stamps: Inspired by Nature
Cardstock: Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: Label punch, Horizontal Slot punch, Old Olive Twill, Sponge Daubers, Cutter Kit for distressing
Here's another card with my favorite new stamp set, Inspired by Nature! Boy do I see possibilities with this set. Unfortunately, I'm not grabbing my other new sets as readily so far. That's OK, plenty of time (school starts a week from today already!). Let me know what you think of this more simple style I'm trying to perfect. The tab at the top is the label punch folded in half with a horizontal slot punch in it for the Old Olive Twill ribbon (not currently available- sorry!).

The flowers were made with a new technique I learned at Convention in one of our classes. Inked first with the Pink Pirouette then sponged on the Riding Hood Red with the Sponge Daubers. Can't wait to try this again!

Rare! New Catty Case!

It may seem odd to you, but I rarely remember to case the catalog samples! Well, on my first browse through I was immediately stunned by the card on page 194 of Stampin' Up's Fall-Winter Idea Book & Catalog! There are some variations I've made but you'll definitely see the similarity if/when you see the catalog.

I knew I could use this gorgeous new silhouette stamp Inspired by Nature to recreate the same effect, and when digging for just the right wheel to use I found this Baroque- which I had forgotten I owned. A few things on here are retired (or will be in a few days), like the hodgepodge ribbon slide and the rub-on... why oh why do I finally see the perfect use for something with just days to spare? Actually, the Hodgepodge is already sold out so it is no longer available at all. I also mistakenly forgot to preorder the new scallop border punch so I did use a non-SU pair of deco scissors to make the scallop, but use your imagination people. The polka dotted chocolate chip paper is from the Bella Rose DSP which is new and LOVELY!

I've been playing for quite a while today so I actually have neat new stuff to post the next few days... I think you'll notice an unintentional theme... Kiwi Kiss is taking an early lead in the race for my favorite new In Color! Of course, Pink Pirouette is in the runing as well.

Stamps: Inspired by Nature
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, Bella Rose
Ink: Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: Baroque wheel, kraft taffeta ribbon, Antique Brass Hodgepodge Hardware, Fiskars Decorative Scissors "Sunflower", Eastern Elegance Rub-ons
Next I really want to post this awesome gift set that my Convention roomy, Lisa Henke, so sweetly made for me! I'm so glad this set, Tart & Tangy, and the coordinating paper Summer Picnic made it to the new catty! How cute is this?!? Thanks Lisa, you are the best! Oh, I almost forgot, she also made a neat coordinating card with but I forgot to photograph it so I'll post that tomorrow, along with another card she sent me before Convention that is so pretty!

Stop back tomorrow, I've got more in store for you!!
