Anyway, I just found it interesting that some never do this and I still LOVE their cards! Neat! So what about you? Have you ever distressed or do you rely on these techniques often?
In any case, this card is all about distressing! First I clear embossed the pheasant then used an oval template to sponge a one-layer "frame", with a bit more ink around the bird to make him stand out more. Isn't Soft Suede (our new In Color) just perfect for this?!! It reminds me of those old time sepia photographs!
After I stamped the wheat from this same set- Autumn Days- I punched the horizontal slot (vertically- LOL) to thread the dotted grosgrain though. Distressed the edges, stamped the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes with the SAMJ then.... brace yourself, it was hard... I crumpled the whole thing like it was going in the trash! You should've seen the looks on my kids' faces!
Hope you like!
Thanks for stopping!
PS- This was scheduled to post on Tuesday night but it didn't work. Sorry 'bout that!

Hope you like it! I am finding that my older rub-ons like these don't work as well once I let them sit too long- I really struggled with the tiny flowers and had to add the rhinestone brads to help hide some booboos! Isn't the white just sharp against that Razzleberry?!!
Gotta run, thanks for stopping by!

Anyway, I think this qualifies as simply masculine, don't you?! I love how rich the colors look toghether- not that I'm ready for fall by any means! Also, in case you haven't already noticed how versatile the new In Color ribbon is, I'm going to point it out. Notice how it isn't dotted on both sides so it can be used for whimsical or more sophisticated or even masculine cards!
Thanks for stopping and be sure to come back tomorrow for our Diva's Coffee Break Designs challenge! We've got a gorgeous inspiration piece to get you started!
I made the Gable Green layer open for the card so the back layer of YoYo Yellow could be scalloped all around. Hope you like it... off to stamp some more while my DD is entertained and I have the house to my self... ooh, but I SHOULD be out pulling weeds!
Thanks for stopping in!

Hope you like! I'm thinking I should be focusing on the In Colors that will be retiring soon because I have a bunch of ribbon left! We'll see- so hard to avoid the yummy new stuff.
Thanks for stopping by today!

These were fast and easy. I used the Big Shot to do the dots at the bottom but I must admit I did not use the Texturz Plate that SU offers. I struggled getting just the row of dots at the bottom of the card without the foam layer squishing out and wasn't happy with the results so I switched to my handy-dandy Fiskars Swiss Dots embossing folder. The NEAT thing about the Big Shot is the flexibility in being able to use so many other brands of dies and folders with it!
Aren't the dots in the ribbon so neat with the embossed dots and the doodled dots at the top, plus this fantastically fun stamp set?!? I can't wait to order the rest of the coordinating ribbons! And what do you think of the sentiments?? Those are all from the same NEW set called Teeny Tiny Wishes and there are 24 sentiments in total- it is such a functional set! Love it!

PS- I got a new cell phone yesterday too so I've been wanting to play with that... and my phone is ringing off the hook today! Yikes- so many things to do. At least my kiddos have friends over so they are entertained! BRB

The CAS challenge was actually a color challenge this time- to use Kraft with any pink or coral color as well as any other one coordinating color. I dug through my bag of kraft scraps and found this circle which is how I decided on the circle card in the first place! The flowers were already punched and on my desk so I just cut the vanilla layer and the Cameo Coral scallop, stamped and was done. There are some tools involved, but I'd still call this CAS, how about you?

I'm late again, I'm sorry! This week I have no excuses I just forgot! I'm sorta glad I did though because I'm so happy with this card. I did break the DCBD rule of only current SU product however, so I will make another one that is "legal"... but I had an idea in my head this morning and just had to get it out on paper. I've been eyeing these colors together for a few days since I noticed my inkpads next to each other in my color caddy. They are old In Colors Marigold Morning, True Thyme and River Rock. Ever since I read a little hint yesterday about the potential for retired In Colors maybe being used again in some way, I've been excited and super glad I still have them ALL!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you'll go check out the other Diva's and their gorgeous creations for this week! Then you can play along with our challenge and link to the Diva site so we can check you out! Have a great day!
So, I kept the design and changed everything else from the colors to the paper and stamps. This time I used the Parisian Breeze Specialty cardstock (that is nearing extinction!) as well as the daisy flower from the Spring Bouquet punch. I did keep the Curly Label punch, but changed from a glittered sentiment to a simple embossed one.
Hope you like it and find this challenge intriguing enough to play along!
Thanks for visiting!
