Simple Dimensional Christmas Tree

Have you ever been so excited to try a new technique that you didn't even think ahead to design or layout? Didn't consider anything beyond the technique? Well, that's what I did here. This folded tree idea was demonstrated at Stampin' Up! Regionals by Carrie Cudney (or was it Shannon West? I get them mixed up- they are both so adorable and sweet!)

Anyway, it is pretty easy. You just cut a rectangle piece of green cardstock (approx. 2.5" by 5" or so). Stamp or wheel on it if you don't want it plain like mine. Then score it the entire length by alternating between 1/2" and 1/4" (I took no notes at Regionals so this is just my experiment, but it worked for me). Then fold, decorate and attach. I adhered it with Mono Multi glue at each ridge that touches the paper and you wouldn't believe how strong this is!

My tree skirt is punched from the flocked DSP in the Christmas Cocoa pack- so it feels fuzzy on the white areas! The sentiment and packages are from Punch Pals and yes it is still current!! I just punched the sentiment with the Modern label punch then cut out the presents and glued them to the top. Nothing spectacular but at least you are seeing a fun new technique!

Hope you like it and will try it sometime! OMG, my barking puppies are driving me crazy! I'm so ready for them to find new homes!!

I'd love to have one of those puppies, but alas ... we have an only-child dog.
